And a big "Fuck You" to you too! stupid fools! 'scuse the language, just a little pissed with this blog thingy... typed my whole entry and clicked "Post & Publish" and some stupid error message came out.. lost everything i wrote! damn asses! anyway, so yesterday, went out wit Sharon and Hanis, sheila didn't come... prolly getting some yogurt for her boifren marcus! hahaha... so, we got Dong a $50 voucher from Topman, we figured that if we gave him the voucher he could buy the things that he want from there... we were actally settling for a t shirt that had "Satisfaction Guaranteed" across the chest region.. but we're like spiralling as to whether he'll like it or not... so we decided to get the voucher instead.. mw.ha.ha.ha

Anyway, was in the loo and reading the papers (no prize for guessing what i was doing!)... came across the article on the "no O-Level" system being given the go ahead by the minstry of education. Quite ridiculous if you ask me... i was greatly vexed by the approval of the government on this issue... i felt that this system would actually create a bigger problem in the future.. ok the status quo is rather trifflin! as of now... some kids from the "upper crust" secondary schools are having their nose up in the sky and their heads getting bigger than ever! Seriously, i mean, they have the right to feel proud cos' they're smart and got into the good schools in the Singapore education system... but with this new system... evrything will be way outta proportion... Somehow, i believe the new system for bright students to skip O Levels will create an elitist organisation. What about equality as a Singaporean? Granted that many Ministers and Members of Parliament hail this top schools as their Alma Mater but there are alot of other smart ones out there who didn't graduate from Raffles Institution or Raffles Girls School, who are making it big! I dunno why people can't see the problem that this system will create in the long run... This will be the icing on the cake.. the tip of the iceberg. In the future major companies and big firms would only want to hire people who graduated from this International Bacculerate(IB) system because, as the government already point out, they're the smart/brighter ones... So again, others will be ostracized.

And why only the tops few schools? There are kids out there who are late developers and didn't get into the top 5 secondary schools in Singapore, but that does not mean that they are any less brighter than kids from RI, RGS, ACS(I) etc etc. wouldn't this an unfair treatment to them? I still believe that all this will somehow parent elitist organisations/movements! I believe that if you want to approve of this system... let it be for everyone who is smart from all the schools.. at least we have a variety of ideas and individuals... At least kids from non upper crust schools can feel motivated to do something about their education and strive to achieve greater results! won't that be better? By that, we can take a stab at creating a more culturally, academically..etc etc.. enhanced society! ain't that ideal?

Ok... something's wrong with this blog thingy.. anyway, this is my first time trying this out.. i figured since it's gonna be the new year in like 2 days time.. might as well do something different! and most of my friends are all over this blog thingy... so i thought.. Why not? might as well.. if they have the some extra space in the server might as well! So.. i'll try to commit myself to this blog thingy for the new year!

Anyway, today is the 30th of dec actually.. tho it's gonna be written as 29th... i'm in Singapore, so the time difference is apparent! Which reminds me... today's Dong's bdae... HAPPY BIRTHDAY! but we're not going out today... tomorrow! today.. sharon, sheila, hanis and me are gonna get the gift for Dong! yup! i dunno what we're gettg.. i guess we shud just let the girls do the shopping huh?? they know better!

Ok.. on to what i actually wanted to say today... i was watching Legally Blonde today (on VCD of course).. and the professor came in and wrote The law is reason free from passion ... of course as we knoe.. it's written by Aristotle... hmmm... well no offense to Aristotle but i think he should have wrote "The Law should be reason free from passion". I mean, truth be told, how can the law be just reasons without passion when it's the passion that makes us desire revenge. It's passion that is used when persecuting criminals, to make our judgements, biase or not! Members of the jury certainly uses passion to come up with the reply of "guilty" or "innocent"! oh, and judges too.... although nowadays they try to reduce the amount of passion they have so as to be impartial... but the fact still stands that passion takes up a percentage of their judgement when sentencing the criminal! So Aristotle.. i dun want you to turn in your grave, but the law is definately not reason free from passion!
